The Friends of Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery is now closed.

The Friends of Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery was a registered charity which supported the work of Plymouth Museums, Galleries, Archives (including The Box) and helped acquire objects for public display, since 1951.  We raised money through membership fees, donations, talks & coffee mornings, trips out and special events held throughout the year.  All of this to support the heritage and culture of Plymouth, the city that we love so well.  Administrative costs were kept to a minimum, as the charity was run by a committee of part time volunteers operating from their own homes.  Donations and subscriptions were therefore predominantly used for the purpose for which they are intended.

However, The Box have now formed their own charity and are running their own membership scheme.  The committee have therefore decided to simplify matters and not
to compete with this and have therefore closed the charity on 21st October 2020.

Donations
If you would like to donate to the Plymouth Museum/the Box, then please send a cheque with "The Box Foundation" as the payee directly to The Box for the attention of Louise Walsh.
